Reconciliation in Action: Healing Our Future Generations and Our Communities

Our Story

The Returning Home Society is a communal initiative from English River First Nation. We provide community support and lead the search for truth at the site of the former Beauval Indian Residential School.

Our Goal

We are dedicated to long-term healing and respectful remembrance for survivors and their families. Our work ensures those who never made it home are honoured with deep love and community care.

Mission:

Cultivate healing & enlightenment by honoring the unmarked graves & the children of residential school through education, acknowledgement of the pursuit of inherent rights. We are warriors of truth, committed to Honor our ancestors' children, past, present, & future. Our mission is to create a legacy of love, belonging & healing, where the Returning Home Elder advisory council actions positivity shape the future.

Vision:

Returning Home serves as a guiding force in the journey towards reconciliation, & inter-generational healing We envision a future where the voices of the silenced are heard and the truths of unmarked graves are honored. Our vision is one of healing, understanding & connectedness. The wounds of the children are respectfully identified, honored, and memorialized.
